Conext Core XC-NA Care and Maintenance

1. De energize, lock out and tag out the inverter and the DC recombiner (if installed) from

all external power sources. Follow the Full External LOTO instructions for the inverter and the DC recombiner (if installed)

2. Perform Cleaning Measures

2. Inspect the Exhaust Screens, Grilles, and Louvers
Please use the visual guide to inspect the screen, grille, and louvers of the inverter.
Pictured Below are:
1. Exhaust Screens

2. Each screen houses 2 screws

To inspect the exhaust screens, grilles, and louvers:

1. On each exhaust screen, remove and save the two Phillips screws and then lift out the

screen.

2. Remove and save the four screws on the metal grille behind each exhaust screen, and

then lift out the grille.

Shown in Figure Above -
1. Metal grille (exhaust screen removed)

2. Exhaust screen over metal grille
3. Remove the exhaust louvers located behind each grille. You can now access the roof of

the inverter.

Figure above - 1. Exhaust Louvers 2. Metal Grille

4. Clean the roof area as follows:

a. In the AC and DC cabinets, use an ESD vacuum to clean the accessible roof

area. Wipe the top of the exhaust fans with a clean lint-free cloth.

b. In the PS cabinet, use an ESD vacuum to clean the mesh over the fans.

5. Inspect the roof area for signs of corrosion. If any corrosion has occurred, carefully

scrape off the corrosion with a wire brush and then apply an anti-corrosive primer to the damaged area. For details on how to remove rust refer to the Schneider Electric Rust Treatment Procedure (document number SD-XC-019).

6. Inspect the foam gaskets around the louvers and if needed, replace the gaskets.

7. Wipe each louver with a dry lint-free cloth, and then reinstall each louver.

8. Wipe each metal grille with a dry lint-free cloth, and then reinstall each grille.

9. Before reinstalling the exhaust screens, inspect each screen visually for debris and

damage. If the screen needs to be cleaned, wash it carefully with warm soapy water,

and then rinse it gently with clear water.

10. Reinstall the exhaust screens, making sure that the drain holes point down.

2.2 Inspecting the Air Intake
This section will go over how to inspect the air intake filters and screens located at the rear of the inverter.
Mounting screw locations in figure above.

To inspect the air intake screens and filters:

1. Loosen the four Phillips screws securing each of the four air intake screens (see Figure

above), slide the brackets away, and lift out the screen.

2. Inspect each screen visually for debris and damage. If the screen needs to be cleaned,

wash it carefully with warm soapy water, and then rinse it gently with clear water.
3. Reinstall the two air intake screens at the rear of the power stage (PS) cabinet.

4. Do not reinstall the air intake screens at the rear of the AC cabinet or DC cabinet. You

will replace the air filters behind these screens next.

5. Locate the air filters for the AC and DC cabinets as shown in Figure 8. On each filter,

loosen the two Phillips screws on the bracket at the opposite side from the interlock switch.

In Figure Above -
1. Top bracket screw for DC cabinet Filter
2. Bottom bracket screw for DC cabinet filter

3. Filter interlock switch, DC cabinet

 4. Filter interlock switch, AC cabinet

6. Slide the bracket away, and remove the air filter by pulling it towards yourself. Discard

the filter

7. Install a replacement filter by performing the following steps:

a. Place the air filter in the frame, ensuring that the gasket side faces into the

inverter. Move the air filter towards the interlock switch until you feel the filter

click into the interlock switch. b. Slide the bracket back against the air filter, and tighten the screws securely.

8. Reinstall the screens that cover the air filters, making sure that the drain holes point

down, the honeycomb surfaces are on the inside, and the insect barriers are on the outside.

2.3 Replacing the AIC Assembly Air
This instruction describes how to replace the air filter located at the front of the AIC assembly in the PS cabinet.

Filter Located in image above.

1. Loosen the Phillips screw on each of the four triangular brackets securing the air filter.

2. Loosen the thumb screw on each of the two triangular brackets at the bottom of the air

filter, and then pivot each bracket away from the filter.

In Figure Above - 1. Phillips screws 2. Thumb screws

3. Grasp the air filter at the bottom and pull it towards yourself, then slide it down to remove

it. Discard the filter.

4. Install a replacement filter by placing the air filter into the frame, moving it upwards

against the top of the frame, and then pushing the bottom in against the interlock switch
NOTE: Ensure that the gasket is on the inside of the filter (between filter and inverter).

5. Pivot the bottom triangular brackets back into place and tighten the thumb screws

securely.

6. Tighten the Phillips screws on the upper two triangular brackets. Tighten the screws in

the two lower triangular brackets until the filter presses the interlock switch enough to click it.
