What is Wattage?

Wattage is the measure of electrical power and is used to express the rate of energy transfer. Many appliances and electrical devices are dependent on this measurement in order to function properly; ie. A microwave is 1000W. Wattage can also be calculated by multiplying the voltage by the current. Ie. (amps x volts).
